Facebook 101
How can Facebook help build your Avon business?
Facebook is a social media platform where you can share photos, videos, thoughts, and so much more! Utilize Facebook as a business tool to post the latest products from Avon, promotions, deals, and even share the Digital Catalog too!
Why is it so important to utilize Facebook for your business?
It’s important to have many different avenues where your customer can find you, your online store, links to the digital catalog, and your contact information. It is also important to be able to connect with them in different areas.
What’s a Business Page? Why is it important to have?
A business page on Facebook is a place for public figures, business, brands, and organizations to connect with customers and fans.
Here is where you will send business updates to the people who follow you. This page will represent your business, brand, and following. This is where customers can go to find information about your Avon business.
Here are 5 easy steps to set up a Business Page!
Once you’ve created a Facebook profile, go to facebook.com/pages/create.
Click to choose a page type (select Business).
Enter your page name, category, address, and phone number.
The page should clearly state that you are an Avon Independent Sales Representative.
Click Continue and follow the on-screen information.
Identify yourself as an Avon Independent Sales Representative.
Once you have a Business Page, you can share current promotions, new content, and the digital catalog to your customers!
IMPORTANT: As stated in Avon’s Business Policies and Procedures; you may use the word Avon in titles on blog pages or your team social media page (for example: Susie’s Avon Team or Karen’s Beauty Page with Avon) as long as the page clearly and very visibly states you are an Avon Independent Sales Representative.
You may not use any other Avon trademarks in the title of blogs, web pages or your Facebook page.
Facebook Insights
Once you have your Facebook page set up you will be able to use Facebook Insights to provide valuable information about your Page’s performance that include demographic data, audience, geographics, and how people are responding to your posts.
You can boost posts within Avon’s policy guidelines.
What is a Facebook Group?
On Facebook, you can curate groups!
A group is a place to communicate, where you can add people into the group and allow access to people who request to join.
It is important to create groups to be able to communicate with customers and keep them up to date. This is like a giant group chat with the ability to personalize it.
Click the icon (on the top right of Facebook) and select Group.
Enter your group name, choose the privacy option and add people to your group.
Be sure to follow the same naming guidelines explained above.
Click Create.
You can’t boost within groups but you can share posts from your Avon Business page. Facebook groups is a great way to get posts seen without paying for boosts. Create incentives for your groupies. Have them share posts. Do live videos.
It takes time to grow your Facebook following or any other social media. Just keep working at it and post regularly. Being sure to create posts that are not all about Avon.
Connect with your followers. Share your hobbies, family, pets, likes, quotes. Be creative and get out of your comfort zone by doing live videos. If your not ready for live Facebook videos, record them first.
